“Developer SunCor New Mexico will introduce to the public
the latest addition to Rancho Viejo, its 10,000-acre master planned community
just south of Santa Fe, on Saturday, July 19,” reported the July 14, 2008
edition of Albuquerque’s bizjournal.com.
“When it is
completed, La Entrada will consist of single-family homes, a central plaza,
neighborhood shops and offices, 15 miles of paved trails, parks and schools
from kindergarten through junior college.
“‘What
you'll find at La Entrada is a reflection of new design, new thinking, and new
energy in this community," said Patrick Thomas, sales manager at Rancho
Viejo. ‘It combines the best elements of traditional Santa Fe living with a new
focus on creating a family-centered community.’
“Some model
homes are available for viewing, and others are under construction. There are
18 home floorplans ranging from 850 to 2,700 square feet. New homes will sell
from $175,000 to $499,000. ‘The big news
for potential homeowners is that many of these new homes are within financial
reach of families working in the area, and could give new hope to those seeking
to purchase a home in Santa Fe,’ said Isaac Pino, president of SunCor New
Mexico.
“The
village, which is Rancho Viejo's third, will be open for viewing Saturday at La
Entrada Family Festival from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Free activities will include a
barbecue lunch (11 to 2 p.m.), pony rides and a drawing for a $100 gas card. The event will kick off at 54 Via Punto Nuevo
in Rancho Viejo, which is south of I-25 between Cerrillos Road and Richards
Avenue. Visit www.ranchoviejo.com/festival for a map and more information.”
Six years
later the December 2014 Issue of the Rancho Viejo Round Up newsletter’s “What’s
Happening at the Rancho Viejo Sales Office” column announced “WE ARE EXCITED to
announce that Rancho Viejo Properties has recently sold out of developed
production lots in Windmill Ridge Phase IV, with the final completion of homes
expected March, 2015. We have released 41 new lots in La Entrada to continue
the completion of La Entrada Phase One.
To date, we have closed a combined total of 31 homes in Windmill Ridge
and La Entrada with a couple more closings by end of 2014. We will continue to build through the Holiday
season as we have 12 new homes on the books for 2015. Seven of those homes yet
to be built will be in La Entrada.”
In an
article entitled “The History of Rancho Viejo” in the February 2017 Issue of La
Entrada News, Cass Thompson gives some detail as to RV’s future.
“Currently,
Univest-Rancho Viejo is completing the build out of La Entrada, part of the
Village West Master Plan being developed in three phases. Phase I, where
current development is occurring, includes a total of 404 residential lots in
four sub-phases, with the remaining lots located on the north side of Rancho
Viejo Blvd. Sub - phase I is nearing
completion, and the subsequent three sub-phases are planned for build-out over
the next three years. After that, construction will move to La Entrada Phase
II, south of Rancho Viejo Blvd., and Phase III, a business park on the
west side of Richards Avenue where BTI [Bicycle Technologies Inc.] is located.
“As
development moves forward, the Rancho Viejo partnership will continue striving
to build a strong community and fulfill the vision that brought Rancho Viejo to
where it is today.”
